Solution

1. Working Conditions

Tundra Soil (Gley Soil): dark gray to gray-black, peat or meadow layers on surface, underlying soil in perennially low-temperature frozen or seasonally freeze-thaw state. Water content 40%-80%, bearing capacity extremely low, hardness <15MPa, very soft to soft soil.

Mono-arm ripper (C Series) is recommended for high-water, low-bearing, cold-environment tundra soil. Flexible operation and controllable grabbing force, paired with breaking bucket, effectively handle seasonal freeze-thaw layers.

Core Advantages

CSJ400C

40-65t

Surface stripping, peat layer clearing

Compact, flexible, low-temp wet environment

CSJ700C

65-85t

Medium-to-large mine large-scale stripping

High output, best cost-performance

CSJ900C

85-95t

Deep tundra soil, seasonal freeze-thaw layer

Strong penetration, wear-resistant, continuous heavy-duty

CSJ1200C

120t

Super large mine, high-intensity continuous operation

4. Construction Process

· Tundra Soil Survey: Confirm layer thickness, permafrost depth, water content, and peat thickness; assess bearing capacity and operating conditions

· Freeze-Thaw Pre-treatment: Seasonal freeze-thaw layers have higher hardness; pre-break with the ripper breaking bucket to reduce overall stripping resistance

· Surface Stripping: Strip surface peat or meadow layer with the ripper to expose underlying tundra soil; control stripping thickness 300-500mm

· Layered Stripping: Strip from top to bottom along soil direction; control product size ≤400mm to avoid over-crushing

· Drainage & Drying: Tundra soil has extremely high water content; drain and dry after stripping to meet subsequent use requirements

· Site Grading: Grade the site after operation to restore surface morphology and meet cold-region land reclamation requirements

5. Efficiency Comparison

Item

Traditional Excavator Direct Mining

Daily Output (8h shift)

1000-2000m³

Freeze-Thaw Layer Breaking

Poor (high resistance, freeze-thaw layer hard to handle)

Equipment Stability

Low (soft soil low bearing capacity, equipment prone to sinking)

Soil Quality

Average (direct excavation, high water content)

Environmental Compliance

Average (large disturbed area, severe ecological damage)

6. Construction Precautions

· Operating Time Window: Tundra soil has a strict seasonal window; operate during summer thaw period (June-September); frozen soil in winter cannot be effectively stripped

· Low-Temperature Equipment Protection: Cold-region operation requires low-temperature hydraulic oil (specification below -40C), insulate hydraulic lines to prevent oil solidification

· Prevent Equipment Sinking: Bearing capacity is extremely low; lay road boards or steel plates for equipment movement to prevent excavator sinking

· Model Selection: Hardness 5-15MPa; C Series fully capable, no J Series needed

· Ecological Protection: Tundra ecosystem is fragile; conduct environmental impact assessment before construction, minimize disturbed area, and perform land reclamation and vegetation restoration promptly after construction
